I tried it , and I am a parent but my kids are adults now but if they were 4 to 5 they would enjoy playing or pretending they were drawing on paper but if they were 6 to 8 I'm almost sure they would like the colors that 64 colors box had in them, and I as an adult and a parent I wouldn't ask for anything more. I think It would be better for a 2 and a 3 year old.
